Dead On Balls Accurate

One of my guilty pleasures is the 1992 movie "My Cousin Vinnie." Apparently, the screenwriter invented the term "dead on balls accurate." According to Lisa, Vinny's long-suffering fiancee, "it's an industry term."

Stability balls, on the other hand, have become a fitness industry staple. Now, I'm not a huge fan, but there are some instances when stability balls can be useful ( Sicilian crunches, jackknives, wall squats for beginners, etc.) The key to optimizing their use is to have the appropriate size depending on your height- to be " dead on balls accurate."

If you're under 5'1", a 45cm ball is for you. 5'2"-5'8", a 55cm ball works well. A 65 cm ball is best for those over 5'8", but under 6'3". Taller than that? Go for the 75cm ball. I've never had a client who required an 85cm ball, but if you're over 6'8, give it a try.

From "My Cousin Vinnie(1992)- Judge Haller: "Uh, did you say 'yutes?' "
