Thoracic Park

I'll bet your upper back is about as rigid as the amber encasing that Dino DNA in Jurassic Park. And that's a bad thing. Why? Believe it or not, your upper back( the thoracic spine) is supposed to be mobile.Lack of mobility can lead to all sorts of problems including low back problems, rotator cuff issues, impaired breathing, and generally poor body mechanics. Here's a test: lie on your back on the floor. Bend your knees and put your feet on the floor.Without arching your back or moving your feet, lock your elbows and lift your arms straight behind you. Try to touch your wrists to the floor over your head.if you can't do this or it's painful, you have poor thoracic mobility. How'd you do? I'll provide you with some easy drills you can perform to improve your thoracic mobility. They'll help you move and feel better, and maybe help prevent injury. From the movie: I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do expect them to pay for them.
