She Knows How To Use Them

Here are a couple of lower-body exercises you can add to your repetoire for a little variety:

  1. Peterson Step-Up  Use  a plyo box of 12-18". With the foot dorsiflexed ( toes up) on the non-working leg, working leg pushes off the box from the ball of the foot. Push off explosively and do not allow the non-working leg to help at all. squeeze the quad hard at the top of the move.
  2. Front Foot Elevated Split Squat Use an aerobic step or short plyo box to increase ROM.
  3. Bulgarian Split Squat w/Forward Lean Put a bit more tension on the quads.
  4. Breathing Squats Use your 10RM weight for 20 reps, keeping the bar in place while you take up to 5 deep breaths between reps.
  5. Split Stance RDL Use a hex bar for this one. ROM is shorter, but you really feel it the hammy.
