You're not getting enough protein. Especially if you're trying to lose body fat.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition recently published a synopsis of 24 scientific studies of diets deemed "standard protein" ( 12-18% of energy) or "high protein" (25-35% of energy.)
The high protein diets resulted in greater weight loss and reduction in fat mass. In addition, the high protein diet helped mitigate the loss of fat-free mass ( typically muscle) and the decrease in resting energy expenditure typically seen in dieters.
Finally, the high protein resulted in greater reductions in plasma triglycerides and produced greater feelings of satiety.
" Then the Whos, young and old, would sit down to a feast,...
They would start with Who-pudding, and rare Who-roast-beast,
Which was something the Grinch couldn't stand in the least!"
