No, not the tricorne-wearing, "birther" wing-nuts.

Green tea and its extract, EGCG are good for your health. The catechins in green tea(not black) are a potent antioxidant. Some studies show that EGCG is better than vitamins C and E.

Studies from Japan showed that HDL was raised and LDL lowered by regular consumption of green tea. Other studies show effectiveness against atherosclerosis and many types of cancers.

Furthermore, EGCG is a natural anti-inflammatory and boosts your metabolism to aid in fat loss.

Avoid it if you're pregnant or have a sensitive stomach, because it does increase acid production.
