In a previous post ( "Get Squeezed"), I described the potential benefits of compression garments (CGs) on athletic performance. Waist-to-ankle compression garments help send blood from the lower leg upward via graduated compression. This prevents blood pooling and helps waste removal.

Previous studies have provided conflicting results regarding the efficacy of CGs. A recent study looked at CGs used in active recovery after high-intensity exercise. The results showed that CGs reduced blood lactate and heart rate during active recovery. Reduced blood lactate means better recovery. And better recovery means a better next workout.
