General Robert E. Lee
The U.S. might be a whole lot better off if we allow the original confederate slave-states, territories, and dual-government states to secede.
Consider this: 6 of the 11 states have obesity rates over 30% ( Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.) Dual-government states Kentucky and Missouri are over 30, as is the Oklahoma territory.
The remainder of the states ( North & South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Texas) rate at 25-29%, with Viginia at 20-24%.
The confederate states/territories or dual-government states make up:
7 of the top 10 in TEEN PREGNANCY Rates;
7 of the top 10 in NUMBER OF HATE GROUPS;
12 of the top 20 in VIOLENT CRIME RATE;
9 of the top 10 POOREST; and
the TOP 5 DUMBEST, with no state higher than 25th smartest.
Of course, these factors are all interrelated, but I am viewing this from a primarily health and wellness perspective rather than a sociological/political one.
It's ironic that the confederate states seceded, in part, to "preserve a way of life" that now appears to be destroying them. Not "RED" but DEAD.
A favorite verse from "Dixie": "there's buckwheat cakes and injun batter/ makes you fat or a little fatter"
Indeed. Go away, go away, go away Dixie Land?
