Fresh from the Fitness Asylum cafeteria, here are a few pieces of nutrition information to put in your lunchbox:
1. Pumpkin isn't just for Halloween. 1/2 cup contains 5 grams of fiber as well as vitamin A, iron and 300% of the RDA for beta carotene.
2. On a low-carb diet? Try shiritake noodles in place of regular pasta.
3. Trying to lose body fat (who isn't)? Add raspberries, blueberries and cur cumin to your diet.
4. Fish oil is a proven aid against cardiovascular disease, but has not been shown to be an ergogenic aid in exercise performance.
5. A landmark 20212 JAMA study shows that high carb
6. Arginine is not an ergogenic aid.
7. You can increase your protein synthesis overnight if you consume 40gm of casein before you go to bed.
8. And, if you wake up in the middle of the night, take BCAAs to improve protein synthesis.
