Does Church Make You Fat?
No, but a just-released study showed young adults who attended church activities at least once per week were 50% more likely to become obese by the time they reached 50.
Possible explanations? Church services, prayer groups, etc. are passive activities that don't involve physical activity. Many church activities involve unhealthy eating patterns, such as all-you can eat pancake breakfasts, potluck dinners, and church picnics full of potato salad and fried chicken.And churchgoers may "reward" themselves for their charitable work with fat and carbohydrate-laden feasts.
So,by all means, worship in the manner of your choosing. Just remember : "...your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit..."
Remember to treat it as such.
