Jacob's Ladder

Are you still looking for a good cardio routine that is both effective and time-efficient? Look no further than one of my oldies-but-goodies: Jacob's Ladder.

But instead of being a ladder between heaven and earth, this ladder is a lung busting , muscle burning challenge that will take you to Hell and back.

Grab a moderately- heavy dumbbell or kettlebell ( at least 35 lbs. for the ladies and 65 lbs. for the gents) and perform 2-handed swings in the following progression:

1 rep, 1 breath
2 reps, 2 breaths
3 reps, 3 breaths...
up to 25 reps and 25 breaths
Then, work your way back down.

Make sure you rest the kettlebell or dumbbell on the floor while performing your breathing.

Stop if your form breaks down.

I did these after my lower body work today, but they're also a great finisher(no pun intended.) Who says cardio is boring?
